About Daniel

Born and raised in East Texas, I got to the Pacific Northwest as fast as I could. Hunkering down on each flank for a time, after growing up in the middle of America, served to open up my mind a bit after leaving that sleepy hometown of 100 or-so residents at 18 years.

I've lived in Marietta, Tyler, Brenham, Palestine, Grapeland, and Dallas, TX; Maumelle, AR; Elmira, NY; Seattle and Kirkland, WA. I finally settled down on The Rock with my wife and dogs - that's Vashon Island, a ferry ride across the water from the Emerald City. We love it here.

Other interests include meaningful conversations over PNW craft beer, critical thinking, armchair sociology, philosophy, and creative culinary exploits like coffee roasting, meat smoking, and home brewing.
